Hublist Hublist Hub Changed ddns but Pingers dont pick it up?

I have got 2 questions ;)

1. How do I get the pingers to realise that I have changed the ddns address?

2. Is there any specific hub settings that make it easier for hublist pingers to get info?

I have noticed that lots of hubs dont get things updated completely like Descriptions etc. and was wondering whats up with their setups.

Re: Hub Changed ddns but Pingers dont pick it up?
Hi.

1. Sadly there is no safe way to do this automatically because hub admins today don't know what they are doing, they put in address field of hub settings address that don't belong to them, they put address that don't exist at all. If our pinger will update that adress automatically, it will most likely loose the hub completely. So the only safe way to do this is to contact us, either by forum as you did this time, or using the contact form. Please feel free to do so any time.

2. Our hublist pinger always collects hub information such as name, topic and description form protocol commands such as $HubName, $HubTopic and $HubINFO. Pinger updates this information every time it visits the hub, currently that is once every hour. So if you don't see any kind of information you was looking for, it means your hub is not configured correctly, or it has a bug that sends wrong information. What information and what hub are you talking about exactly?

Also I moved your topic to hublist section instead of our team section.

Regards.

Re: Hub Changed ddns but Pingers dont pick it up?
Thankyou RoLex.

I did have it set up right to start with but have changed the DyN service to avoid confusion with my IRC server. So at the moment the old ddns is still working but I have a new dynu that I have changed to for the DC++ Hub. I did think that because the pinger is still connecting using the old address is why it hasnt changed even tho the hub is configured for the new one as they both point to the same IP.

My Hub is -==[ Mixxy's Burrow }==- mixxy.dynu.net:6969 Australia

Cheers,
